Drivers and Usage Scenarios
Do I need to buy separate insurance when renting a car?
Non-Quebec residents:
Strongly recommended to purchase full coverage from the rental company.
Quebec residents:
If your own vehicle has "full coverage" (including Collision and Comprehensive), your insurance usually extends to cover rental vehicles (please confirm with your insurance advisor beforehand).
This is general information only and does not constitute insurance advice. Your policy wording and a licensed broker's confirmation prevail.
